2014 C-MAX Energi More Like a Minivan Than a Hybrid

When you are looking to buy in the hybrid market, you have pretty low expectations on size. You plan to be stuck low to the ground, not fit many passengers and sacrifice any storage. However, the 2014 C-MAX Energi is more like a minivan in its size and utility, which still maintaining the fuel conservation of a hybrid.

The C-MAX has a lithium-ion batter pack that can be charged in 2.5 hours and has an 88-mpg-equivalent. When it switches over to gasoline, it still has an impressive 38-mpg. And it makes the switch with a continuously variable transmission.

The C-MAX takes design cues from the popular Ford Focus, and from the front and interior they are almost identical. The C-MAX even has popular features like Ford SYNC and an under-bumper sensor to open the rear hatch hands free.  That’s a nice change from usual hybrids that sacrifice size for efficiency.

The C-MAX Energi has a minivan shell and low stability, which combine for an all around great drive. Check out the C-MAX and other Fords at Nick Nicholas Ford.
